What you will need

- Thankful Harvest Box Die Set

- Ivory Smooth Card

- Smooth Mint Mirror Card

- Deluxe Adhesive

Step 1

Die cut 2 of the large box shape from your base colour and burnish all the score lines.

Step 2

Use the 2 dies shown to cut out 2 decorative panels. Glue these onto the corresponding shapes on the box.

Step 3

Use the 2 dies shown to cut out the decorative rectangles and glue in place.

Step 4

Die cut the decorative panels for the dies of the pockets and the top of the box with the dies shown and glue in place.

Step 5

Fold inwards, glue the tab and along the bottom and fold the other side over to create a pocket.

Step 6

Turn one panel at 180 degrees to the other and glue together by the central tabs as shown.

Step 7

It should then look like this.

Step 8

Glue the small tabs on each side of the next panel to the corresponding sides on the box front and back.

Step 9

Use the outline shape shown to die cut one plain shape then tape the slit die into place using the notches as guides to create a panel with a slit.

Step 10

Use both dies shown to create 2 patterned panels and glue these onto the plain shapes, making sure to line up the slit on one of them.

Step 11

Die cut a strap and fold.

Step 12

Attach a small magnet to the underside of the circle.

Step 13

Glue the panel with the slit onto one side of the box. Tuck the short end of the strap into the slit and glue in place.

Step 14

Place another magnet on top of the one already glued and add the adhesive circle on top. Then fold over the strap and press into place on the side of the box.

Step 15

Glue the second side panel (without the slit) on top, covering the magnet.

Step 16

Now the strap will close over and be held in place with the magnets.

Step 17

Die cut the tag. And leaves and attach to the top of the box with ribbon. Then make a card for the inside using the plain die shown for the ivory part and using both dies shown for the green die cut. Glue both together.

https://www.aircraftcreeper.com/blogs/import-blog-tonic/terrific-triple-tower-tutorial 2023-06-16T12:30:14-04:00 2023-06-16T12:32:13-04:00 How To Construct The Terrific Triple Tower Showcase Shopify API

The Terrific Triple Towers Showcase is a such a versatile die set which enables you to create 3 initial towers, the Windmill, the Lighthouse and the Helter Skelter, however there are plenty more towers/structures you can create with this set, just get your imagination going and the list will be endless :D The towers are straightforward to assemble, but for a helping hand, here’s a photographic step by step on how I constructed my Windmill.

Step 1

Die-cut 6 of the larger sides and 2 bases from your base colour. Pre fold all the scored glue tabs.

Step 2

Adhere one piece to each side of the first hexagon base piece as shown.

Step 3

Flip over, and add the second base, to really hold those bottom glue tabs in place.

Step 4

Die-cut and layer up your decoration for the bottom layer, and adhere them onto the sides.

Step 5

Use the long side glue tabs to build the base.

Step 6

Then move onto the tiny glue tabs at the top…

Step 7

Tiny pegs are very helpful to hold these in place as they dry.

Step 8

Die-cut 6 of the side pieces for the top of the box...

Step 9

Decide on your decoration, die-cut and layer as before…

Step 10

Glue all of your side panels together with the long glue tabs as shown, then add to your decoration too.

Step 11

Finally glue the last side.

Step 12

Repeat the process from steps 6 and 7 for the top and bottom tiny tabs of this top section of the windmill body.

Step 13

For the top of the windmill, cut 3 of each of the 2 pieces depicted above.

Step 14

Glue the 3 with the hexagonal piece together like so…

Step 15

Then use the remaining glue tabs to form it into this shape…

Step 16

…It looks like this from the other side.

Step 17

For the next section down of the top lid piece, you’ll need to glue together the other 3 pieces shown in Step 13 together like shown.

Step 18

And once you adhere that final side, I'll look like thisLeave these 2 pieces to dry while we make the sails.

Step 19

I wanted to have vellum in my sails, so I cut 8 of the sail pieces, 2 for each of the sails, plus a piece a gold pearl vellum per sail too.

Step 20

Adhere one sail to the vellum, then trim off the excess.

Step 21

Flip it over and stick the other sale to the back, just to make them nice and sturdy.

Step 22

Repeat this for all 4 sails.

Step 23

Begin attaching the sails together, we want them to all be at 90 degrees to each other, the grid lines on your glass mat help tremendously with this.

Step 24

Add the last sail and leave to dry...

Step 25

To hold the sails onto the windmill, we need 2 of these die set, pre fold all the score lines for easier assembly...

Step 26

... Then add glue to the tiny triangular glue tabs...

Step 27

And bring the pieces together like so.

Step 28

You can now use a brad to attach the sails to this black piece...

Step 29

... Opening up the legs of the brad inside like so to secure them into place, then should still be able to spin...

Step 30

Back to the lid portion, add some red liner tape to those top curved tabs...

Step 31

... Then add to top piece like so.

Step 32

Finally you can add the sails, using the 2 remaining glue tabs on that black hexagonal 3D piece.

Step 33

Finally we need a nice neat base, so die-cut 2 of these pieces, and pre fold all the score lines...

Step 34

... Twist the 2 pieces round and adhere together like so...

Step 35

... Then use the tiny triangular glue tabs to bring up the sides...

Step 36

... Add glue to this section, and tuck it under so it sticks to the base ...

Step 37

... So you end up with a piece like this once all the pieces are tucked under.

Step 38

Add some glue into the centre, and place the base inside.

Step 39

Now you can decide where you want to adhere the piece, you can make the whole bottom piece whole, as shown...

Step 40

... Or you can stick the lid to the top half and have the box opening in the centre ...

Step 41

Youve also got plenty of extra dies to add windows and doors to the windmill too :D

The Showcase Eternity Vase is a joy to construct with my condensed steps. I have made the 4 sided one but you have all the elements in the set to create a 6 and 8 sided one too. You simply need to die cut extra pieces and the hexagon and octagon shapes instead.

What you will need

- Showcase 31 Eternity Vase Die Set

- Pearl White Pearlescent Card

- Princess Pink Pearlescent Card

- Fresh Mint Pearlescent Card

- Rose Pink Classic Card

- Nuvo Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops

- Nuvo Hybrid Ink Pad – Panama Rose

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Sweet Pink Double Face Satin Ribbon

- Santa’s Sleigh Stamp & Die Set – for the bow and stamped sentiment

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Paper Trimmer

- Scissors

- Gems

Step 1 – Making the Eternity Vase Base

Die cut one base side panel and 2 squares from rose pink card and 4 decorative strips from fresh mint card. Stick the decorative strips on to the base side panel with glue. Join the long piece together to form a square and put glue on the top tabs then stick on to a square. Turn it over and apply glue to the tabs on the other side and stick the second square on the top to form your base.

Step 2 – Creating the Eternity Vase Body

Die cut 2 of the side panels from mint green card, 4 decorative strips and 8 decorative side elements from rose pink card and 4 side elements from princess pink card. Adhere the decorative elements to the side panels with glue.

Step 3

Prise down all the tabs on the side panels and add glue to the bottom 2 sets of tabs then stick to the other panel. Do the same for all the bottom tabs.

Step 4

Stick the base to the bottom of the body with glue.

Add glue to the top tabs and stick together to form the vase.

Step 5 – Creating the Lid

Die cut 2 lid lower tier panels from rose pink card and a square, together with 4 elemental strips and 1 elemental square from fresh mint card. Adhere the elemental pieces on to their respective bases with glue as shown.

Stick the 2 lid lower panels together by adding glue to the side tabs. Fold the top tabs down and add glue before sticking on the decorative square to form the lid. Put the lid on the Eternity Vase

I decorated my Eternity Vase with die cut bows on all the sides and stuck a gem in the middle. I added Nuvo drops to some of the decorative elements and made a tag which I stamped with ‘A Little Gift From Me’.

Die cut the above pieces in the quantities shown, using the 300gsm card for all the pieces except the top left, which you will cut from Classic card. You may wish to cut extra large circles to strengthen the base.

Step 2

Join the ling strips with the glue tabs to form a circle and fold in the tabs.

Step 3

Glue one large circle into the ring and then add another on top.

Step 4

This will form the base.

Step 6

Give the large die cuts a little curve with your bone folder and glue together to form a cylinder.

Step 7

Glue one of the slit circles into the bottom of the cylinder and glue the other on top of the glue tabs, lining up the slits.

Step 8

Cut a 27cm x 12cm strip of patterned paper and glue around the cylinder. Cut a 1cm strip of matching paper and glue around the base.

Step 9

Die cut both shapes shown from Classic card (cutting 2 of the hinges)

Step 10

Glue the hinges to the pocket and then attach to the back of the central card. Glue the 2 handles together and attach to the top.

Step 11

Glue the other central card to the back. (You can leave this and attach the drawers to the second card before gluing them both together, as I have done in my video)

Step 12

Die cut the same shape from patterned paper, removing a sliver from each side and the glue tabs from the bottom. Glue to the pocket.

Step 13

Make the drawer compartment. (Repeat for each drawer)

Die cut 2 of the compartment shapes from Classic card and 2 little rectangles for the sides.

Step 14

Fold and burnish as shown.

Make 3 compartments and glue together as a stack.

Add another semi circle on top and add a decorative panel.

Step 20

Glue the stack of compartments to the central panel.

Step 21

Make the drawer (Repeat for the 3 drawers)

Die cut the shapes shown from Classic card and a decorative panel from patterned paper. Glue together in this configuration.

Step 22

Add decorative panels to the sides and inside.

Step 23

Use the 2 dies shown to make a decorative panel for the outer cylinder. Glue in place.

Step 24

Die cut a medium circle from 300gsm card and glue to the base. Then glue the cylinder to the base platform.

Step 25

Because I have used paper with a bird on it, I used some Craft Perfect Jute twine to create a little nest and added some pearls into it. I also made a little tag to match.

- Ice Rink Specialty Card

- Grass Green Classic Card

- Craft Perfect Woodland Walk Paper Pad

- Craft Perfect Autumn Maple Paper Pad

- Fresh Mint Pearlescent Card

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Paper Trimmer

Step 1 - Making the Base

Die cut the pieces below from green card. Join the 2 long pieces together and prise all the tabs down with your fingers.

Add glue to the 5 tabs at a time and stick them to one of the large circles you have die cut. Make sure you press and hold until they are firmly stuck before you glue the next set of 5 tabs. Continue until you have formed the circle. Add glue to all the top tabs and stick the second large green circle on the top. Press firmly.

Step 2 - Creating the Slider Box Cover

Die cut 2 of the Outer Cylinders from white card. Stick together by adding glue along the tab. Cut a sheet of 6”x6” green printed paper in half and stick in the centre across the white cylinder base then trim off the excess on either side.

Die cut 2 of the medium sized green circles with the slit die on the top. I used washi tape to secure the slit die in between the guides. Die cut 2 of the semi circles with a design of your choice in white card and stick on to one of the green circles with glue.

Step 3

Prise down all the tabs on the outer cylinder, curve it and add glue to 5 tabs. Stick those 5 tabs down on to one of the green slit circles and hold until secure then do the same again until you have made the circle. Add glue to the side tab and stick to secure your cylinder.

Add glue to the top and stick the decorated circle on top with glue. I have decorated the cylinder using a tag from this set and a sunflower die cut from the Stamp Club Sunshine & Sunflowers set.

Step 4 – Creating the Drawer Compartments

To make one compartment, die cut 2 of the dies below in green card. Stick one die cut onto the other as shown in the first photo. Burnish the folds and add glue to 4 of the tabs and stick the top and bottom down.

Die cut 2 semi circles from green card and stick one above and one below the compartment carefully curving the side tabs before sticking down with glue. Repeat this step 2 more times so you have 3 compartments in total.

Step 5 – Creating the Drawers

Die cut the pieces shown below from light green card and the decorative element from white card then adhere with glue as shown.

Take the base and stick the back and then the sides. Curve the front panel and adhere the panel to the front with glue. Repeat this step so you have 3 drawers in total.

Step 6 – Assembling the Superb Slider Box

Die cut the elements below from white card. Curve the storage panel before adding glue to the hinges and adhering to both sides. Use the hinges to secure the storage panel to the central support die cut from green card with glue. Stick a die cut handle from light green card to the top and adhere the compartment on to a die cut mid size circle from green card.

Step 7

Stick the 3 compartments on top of each other with glue.

Die cut another compartment support die from green card and another handle from light green card. Put glue on the back of the compartment base and slide the compartment support piece through the tabs. Add glue to the tabs and stick down. Stick the handle on the top with glue. To finish, add glue to the back of both the compartments, the handle and the bottom and stick on to the circle base then press together to secure.

- Patterned paper from magazine kit

Scoring board

Bone folder

Scissors

Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive or Craft Perfect Double Sided Redline Tape

Optional:

Hole punch

Ribbon

Embellishments, tags, and/or toppers

I really enjoyed how the Designers Choice Safety Deposit Box mechanism made the box glide open so smoothly and it got me to thinking about how else to use the box. I realised that a gift card fitted in it perfectly so set about making this creation in which the gift card pops out when you open the box. There is also enough space in the box to add a small gift or note under the gift card.

What you will need

- Designer’s Choice Safety Deposit Box Die Set

- Pumpkin Orange Classic Card

- aircraftcreeper Heavy Weight Acetate

- Sweet & Simple Sentiments Stamp Set

- Ivory Sheen Pearlescent Card

- Tonic Scoring Board and Tool

- aircraftcreeper Mariposa Moments Paper Pad

- Nuvo Black Shadow Ink Pad

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Red Liner Tape

- Paper Trimmer

- Scissors

Step 1

Using orange card, cut out the pieces required to create the internal box and burnish the score lines before sticking together with glue.

Step 2

Line the bottom of the box with some patterned paper. Die cut the decorative elements from cream card and adhere on the front with glue.

Step 3

Next, cut out the die cut elements required for the external box from orange card. Use cream card to die cut the decorative elements and adhere them with glue. For the top of the box, cut a piece of patterned paper and add the decorative die cut triangles. Stamp ‘You’re special’ on cream card with black ink and fussy cut. Adhere on the top with glue.

Step 4

Die cut 6 circles from orange card and adhere them for the box mechanism. Die cut butterflies to stick on top of the circles from patterned paper.

Step 5

Assemble the outer box with glue but do not stick the cover on.

Step 6

Cut a sheet of patterned paper to 17cm x 7.7cm. Score along the long edge 1cm on both sides and score along the short side at 8.5cm. Cut away the 1cm strips up to the centre on both sides.

Step 7

Fold the bottom of the paper up and glue the 2 tabs across to create the gift card holder. Use the small circle die to cut a little semi circle so you can pull the gift card out easily.

Step 8

Finish the gift card holder by die cutting a small rectangle from the set in cream card and stamping ‘I Love You’ in black ink. Fussy cut a butterfly from the papers and adhere on top.

Step 9

Cut a piece of heavy acetate to 5cm x 10cm and fold in half. Stick red liner tape on the bottom so you can stick it into the box and on the front to you can adhere the gift card holder to it.

Step 10

Stick the gift card holder with the acetate to the bottom of the box.

Step 11

Die cut a couple of circles in orange card and stick on the front of the box to create the pull tab.

Hi my name is Shilpa, and I’m here to share with yoall a ‘Terrific Treat Box’ using this month’s Craft Kit. Tonic Craft Kits are always packed full of dies, stamps, Nuvo products and Craft Perfect papers & cards, this kit is no different. I love the new colour combo within this kit, everything is perfectly coordinated. Even though, it’s a Christmas themed kit, it definitely lends itself to non Christmas projects too. I love the versatility of the dies and papers! There are many full sized products to play with too! Hope you enjoy recreating the box am sharing with you today.

Step 1

Start by cutting two each of the shapes below. I have used the Venetian Gold Mirror Card & Classic Bright White Card. These pieces will create the box baseI will put the base together once all the decorative layers are stuck on.

Step 2

Now using the layering/decorative dies I have cut the top layers for the lids using Foiled Craft Card Heart of Gold. Once cut, use Tonic Deluxe Adhesive to stick these pieces on the white lid base as shown in the photo. Then put aside and work on next steps.

Step 3

Using the Classic Bright White card, cut the sections shown below using the decorative verso dies to create the pretty detailed layers to go on top of the gold base layers. Use Tonic Deluxe Adhesive to glue them as show in the photo. These sections will create your box base with sides.

Step 4

Whilst the sections from step 2 & 3 are drying, cut the shapes below using Venetian Gold Mirror card. These will be used to strengthen the closure.

Step 5

Now it’s time to construct your box using the easy to follow instructions provided with your kit.

*Remember to curve your lid die cuts. You can use a bone-folder, back of scissors or even the edge of your table/desk. This will give you domed lids, which will sit neatly on the arched edge of the completed box as shown in the photos.

Also add the pieces from step 4 to strengthen your closure.

Step 6

You can now thread through the ribbon provided in the kit, to tie a bow to close the Terrific Treat Box. As shown in the photos.

What you will need

- A2 card blank

- Black card

- White smooth card, alcohol marker friendly

- Alcohol Markers

- Scissors

- White embossing powder

- Die cutting machine

- Stamping platform

- Shaker foam or foam pads, wet adhesive

- White gel pen

- Nuvo Hybrid Ink, Black Shadow

- Nuvo Diamond Ink Pad, Blue Mineral (part of Sweet Sorbet trio)

- Tonic Super Trimmer

- Removable tape to hold die cuts down.

Step 1

Trim two pieces of white smooth card to 5.5” x 4.25” or A2 size. To make the card frame, line up your card panel to create half of an inch border.

Step 2

Use the double side arrows on the super trimmer to ensure your cuts are precise. Once each side is cut, leaving a half inch border, rotate and repeat.

Step 3

Once all 4 sides have been cut, you will be left with a perfect frame. Repeat this to ensure you have two frames. Alternatively, you could use a set of A2 dies to create the frame.

Step 4

Stamp out the leaves, and flower pots onto Alcohol friendly cardstock, and color with alcohol markers. Once dry, add a few white gel pen details to those images. Die cut the images and the plant hanger twice and large planter in smooth white card. Color the large planter.

Step 5

Adhere one of the plant holders to the back of the frame.

Step 6

Carefully glue the colored plant holder into the hanger, and then stick the second plant hanger behind. This gives the hanger a little extra durability.

Step 7

Add some of the leaves to the hanger.

Step 8

Trim a piece of white smooth card, 5.5” x 4.25” or A2 size. Use Blue Mineral (or any light blue) Hybrid ink to create a soft blue background.

Step 9

Use 4mm foam pads (2mm double stacked) or shaker tape to add your frame to the background panel.

Step 10

Add two planters to the bottom right of the card.

Step 11

Place foam pads on the other frame previously cut out (steps 1-3)

Step 12

Add the second frame directly over the top.

Step 13

Add another leaf to the bottom of the hanging planter. Add a plant pot directly onto the frame in the bottom right corner.

Step 14

White heat emboss, ‘just for you’ onto black cardstock, and die cut with the banner included in this set.

Step 15

Adhere the sentiment, and then add your dimensional card to an A2 cardbase.

Hi friends!

Thanks for joining me on the Tonic blog. Today I’m here to show you this month’s Stamp Club release and as is the case with all of Tonic’s unique Stamp Club sets, how it can be used to create multiple crafty things beyond just cardmaking. This month’s set is called ‘Aloha Paradise’ and as the name suggests, it is packed full of all things fun and tropical; ideal for some brightly coloured, totally-tropical, party decorations to get us in the mood for the summer months ahead!

Below are a few ideas that I had immense fun putting together. I hope you find this month’s Stamp Club as fun as I did, and feel inspired to have a play around with the set.

Party Bunting

A summer garden party is the perfect excuse for ‘bringing out the bunting’!

Here I have made some mini bunting using a combination of cardstock that I decorated myself using the stamps from the set, along with some of the beautiful Craft Perfect - Tropical Paradise double-sided patterned papers, which I thought would be the perfect combination of colours for my theming.

To create the pineapple and hibiscus patterns, I randomly stamped the images using Nuvo Clear Mark and heat embossed them using Nuvo Embossing Powders (white on the kraft card and gold onto white cardstock). I then added colour and detail using Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens and some ‘splatters’ in Nuvo Glitter Spray and watered down Nuvo Vintage Drops.

To the patterned cardstock, I added some stamped images that I coloured in using Nuvo Alcohol Markers, popping them onto foam pads to give them a bit of height.

The triangle shapes I trimmed down using a mini guillotine and I hung the flags using Craft Perfect: Bakers Twine.

Cupcake Toppers & Straws

Some fun and quirky cupcake toppers and straws decorated with stamped images from the Aloha set (the cupcake toppers I combined with icing and strawberry images from previous Stamp Club set: Delicious Desserts) All were coloured in using Nuvo alcohol markers and attached using a hot glue gun.

Pinwheels

These cute pin-wheels I made by cutting down pieces of Craft Perfect: Tropical Paradise double-sided patterned paper to measure 12 x 12cm and then folding them on the diagonal to create four triangles. Afterwards, I cut along each seam approximately 2/3 of the way to the centre. Bending (but not folding) one of each of the cut corners, I glued the tips to the centre. Using a long pin, I then pushed a hole through the centre of the wheel, as well as through a small die cut circle in contrasting patterned paper and the top of a paper straw. To hold it all together, I used a brass split-pin, which I pushed through the circle first, followed by the wheel. Before passing and securing the split-pin through the straw at the back, I also added a small bead. Finally, I glued on a stamped image that I had coloured in using Nuvo Alcohol Markers, to cover over the head of the brass pin.

Gift/Party Bag Tags

These tags I created by stamping the toucan, leaf and flamingo images randomly onto watercolour cardstock using Nuvo Clear Mark and then heat embossing using Nuvo Embossing Powders (Jet Black, Glacier White & Classic Gold) I then applied colour using Nuvo Shimmer Powders (Golden Sparkler, Green Parade & Cherry Bomb) along with a few white paint splatters for added interest. The die cut tag shape is from last year’s Tonic Craft Kit #44 and I used it to cut both the heat embossed papers, along with a complimentary patterned paper from the Tropical Paradise pad. The silhouette images have been cut from Craft Perfect ‘Black Sapphire Glitter Card and the fussy cut heat embossed sentiments have been mounted onto vellum and attached using foam pads for a little extra height. 9mm Craft Perfect ‘Jet Black’ ribbon and some twine finish off the tags, along with a few black gems dotted around.

Party Invitations

This party invitation is a combination of the Aloha Paradise Stamp Club set and Craft Kit #31 - Tropical Paradise. The leaf images have been stamped using a masking technique and heat embossed in white embossing powder. The die cut hibiscus from the craft kit has been layered up twice; one I glued down the bottom one, I coloured it in using Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens and I then tidied it up with a second die cut layer, cut out of ‘Baroque Rose’ Craft Perfect Mirror Card. The number 40 I cut using Tonic’s Number Dies, which I then ink-blended and stencilled over with Nuvo ‘Moonstone’ Glimmer Paste. For the date and time I used the Tonic Keepsake Creator Die set.

So that’s me all summer party ready! This month’s Stamp Club has been so much fun to play with and I hope it’s giving you some ‘Summer Feels’ too.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by on the blog today and happy crafting!

Hello crafty friends, it's Terri on the blog today to share an overview, along with a construction tutorial for the latest aircraftcreeper Showcase die set. This die set enables you to create open topped boxes, which look like bowls, of two different sizes. The sides are made using the same panel dies, but there are both hexagonal and octagonal bases, meaning your bowl can be 6 or 8 sided. The 8 sided bowl is beautifully large, so much so that it inspired me to create something rather unusual with it – but more of that in a moment!

The side panels are a sort of fishtail or petal shape, and there is a very pretty verso die included in the set to enable you to create decorative panels to glue on top of your main, structural panels.

How to Construct the Terrific Twist Showcase

This construction tutorial will focus on creating a 6 sided bowl, so you will need to die cut six panels and 2 or 3 hexagons. You need one hexagon to adhere your six side panels to, and I added an extra to the top and the bottom for extra strength and to hid the glue tabs so it looks neater.

Step 1

The following process photos show you how to assemble the first few side panels. You bend and lightly burnish both of the tabs towards you. Next, using wet glue, you adhere 1 tab to the top of one of the sides of the hexagon and the other tab to the under side of the next side of the hexagon. It doesn't really matter whether you start with an under or an over, as long as with each panel, one tab is glued under the base and one tab is glued on top of the base. You will be using the other hexagon or octagon die cuts to cover the glue tabs anyway.

Step 2

Next you take the next side panel and adhere the first tab over the top of the side of the hexagon that has the tab of the previous side panel underneath it. The 2nd tab of the 2nd panel again glues underneath the next side of the hexagon. You have now attached 2 side panels.

Step 3

Continue with the 3rd panel as shown in the process photos.

Continue with the 3rd panel as shown in the process photos.

Step 4

Continue in this manner until all side panels have been glued to the hexagonal base. The last one may be a bit fiddly, but just take your time, it will be worth it.

Adhering the side panels together

To adhere the top of the side panels together, in order to close your bowl and create the unique twisted effect, apply a small amount of glue in the positions shown in the process photos (corner of side panel and underside of petal/flap). I found that to speed the process up, it was handy to have some small craft pegs to hold the panels to their neighbour while the glue was drying. You could also use paper clips if you didn't have any tiny pegs.

Step 5

After a few minutes you can remove the pegs/paper clips and your twisted bowl will be assembled and now comes the fun task of deciding what to put inside it!

Ideas for using your Terrific Twist Bowl

• The sentiments included in the kit are all treat related so would be perfect for holding wrapped sweets or chocolates on your desk or on tables at parties.

• In one of my sample makes I cut a circle of card for a lid and partially die cut (using a very small circle die) a finger pull in one side, to hide the contents from view (see below)

• You could also use the Terrific Twist Showcase as either an open or closed top lantern. If you repeated the above step to create a lid, the top would be closed and if you used the verso die with or without a vellum backing and a battery operated tea light or small string lights, it would create a lovely glow for some ambient lighting in a room.

• You don't have to use the verso dies included, I'm sure you could find some other verso dies in your Tonic stash that would work. Alternatively you could use it as an excuse to break into some of those treasured, speciality paper or card stocks you may have been saving (if your anything like me!) and use the plain cutting die without the verso die to cut decorative panels of patterned paper or thin card.

• You could also go with a completely out of the box idea such as using it as a gift basket. If you cut a length of card stock and attached each end of it to opposite sides of the bowl with brads, it would make a lovely basket for a flower girl at a wedding, or an Easter basket.

• In my second make, I chose earth toned colours that reminded me of a terracotta pot and used a aircraftcreeper diet set to make some gorgeous flowers from classic craft perfect card. I added some leftover polystyrene into the base and glued it down, cut slits in it to hold the flowers in place and covered over the polystyrene with reindeer moss. The possibilities are as vast as your imagination!

I hope you have enjoyed this Terrific Twist Showcase overview and accompanying construction tutorial. I think it is an incredibly versatile die set and I just love the pattern of the verso die – it reminds me of mermaid scales. We'd love to see what you make so don't forget to tag aircraftcreeper in your makes on Social Media.

Hi everyone!

I have been having a lot of fun playing with the brand new Tonic Stamp Club set called ‘Hungry Honey Bears’ and today I bring to the Tonic blog something a little different, in the shape of a box frame. This incredibly cute set really lends itself well to ‘new baby’ crafts; be it arrival cards, baby shower/first birthday party invitations or, like I have made here, a decorative box frame which would make a lovely welcome gift for a baby’s nursery. In recent years I have made a number of new baby box frames for friends as well as for my own children and I find them so incredibly fun to create as well as, of course, being an immensely personal gift to give. I do hope you like it and are inspired to give crafting within a box frame a go!

What you will need

- Small flower dies from Tonic Craft Kit: Wildflower Garden (or similar)

- Tonic Keepsake Creator Die Set

- Nuvo Hybrid Inks - Sunrise Yellow, Amber Ochre, Almond Cream

- Nuvo Sparkle Spray - Frosted Lemon

- Nuvo Embossing Powder - Classic Gold

- Nuvo Vintage Drops - Chocolate Chip & Chalk Stick

- Nuvo Classic Colour Pencil sets - Brilliantly Vibrant & Hair and Skin Tones

- Craft Perfect Cardstock - Sea Salt Green (Classic), Turquoise Lake (Glitter), Gold Pearl (Mirror), Smooth White (300gsm), Kraft Card, Ginger Pie (Classic)

- Craft Perfect Adhesive Foam Pads

- Craft Perfect Redline Tape (6mm)

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink

Extras:

- 23 x 23 cm box frame (with mount that holds 13 x 13 cm / 5 x 5” aperture)

- Alphabet Letter Dies or Alphabet Stickers

- White Gel Pen & Black Fineliner Pen

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Magnetic Crafter’s Platform

- Ink blending tools - brushes or daubers

- Heat Tool

Step 1

Cut a piece of Smooth White Cardstock and Kraft Card, each measuring 5.5 x 5.5” (to fit a 5 x 5” aperture)

Step 2

Using one of the ‘runny honey’ dies, attach to the top edge of the kraft card base as shown, using low tack tape and run through your die cutting machine.

Step 3

To continue the runny effect across the entire edge, line up your die as shown to extend it. Tape into position and run through your die cutting machine. This has now created a stencil for you to ink blend your honey.

Step 4

Line up the kraft ‘stencil’ over the top of your white card blank and hold it in place with magnets on a magnetic platform. Using the lighter shade of yellow ink (Sunrise Yellow), ink blend the shape, making it darker at the top and lighter on the ‘runs’. Overlay with the darker yellow ink (Amber Ochre) on the top edge and to create some shadow on the runs.

Step 5

From a height of approx 25cm lightly spray the inked area with Sparkle Spray. Set aside to dry.

Step 6

To create the effect of ‘no-line colouring’, stamp out the beehive, honey pot and baby bear images using a light coloured ink.

Step 7

Using the ‘Hair & Skin Tones’ Nuvo colouring pencil set, starting lightest shade first and working up to darkest, colour the beehive image as shown. The colours I used, in order, are: Pale Blonde, Desert Camel, Caramel Popcorn and Roast Chestnut.

Step 8

For the honey pot, I again started lightest and worked up. Colours used are: Caramel Popcorn, Iced Tea and Roast Chestnut. For the honey, I also used the Nuvo ‘Brilliantly Vibrant’ coloured pencil set. Starting lightest to darkest, colours are: Pale Blonde, Spring Daffodil and Caramel Popcorn.

Step 9

Finally, colour in the baby bear image using Barely Bisque, Desert Camel, Iced Tea, Roast Chestnut and Raven Black.

Step 10

An optional extra is using a black fineliner and white gel pen to add further light and shade details to the images. I did this using a combination of dots and cross-hatch markings. Die cut the images using the corresponding dies.

Step 11

Use the Tonic Keepsake Creator Die Set to cut the appropriate birth day and date for baby. Cut them twice, once in smooth white and the second in ‘Ginger Pie’ Classic Cardstock. Glue the white, on top of the darker shade, with a sight overlap to create a drop-shadow effect.

Step 12

Die cut (two of each) of the three different branches in smooth white cardstock.

Step 13

Using Clear Mark Embossing Ink, line up and stamp out the ‘hello’ and ‘baby’ sentiments to form a single sentiment. Apply and heat emboss ‘Classic Gold’ Embossing Powder. Finish by fussy cutting the sentiment.

Step 14

In Craft Perfect Sea Salt Green (Classic), Turquoise Lake (Glitter) and Gold Pearl (Mirror) die cut a number of mini flowers. Layer some of them up and adhere to give the flowers more detail.

Step 15

In light ink, stamp out three bees and colour. You can also add a few extra ‘light’ details with a white gel pen. Colours used are: Spring Daffodil, Caramel Popcorn and Raven Black. Once coloured, fussy-cut your bees out.

Step 16

Have a play with the layout of all of your different pieces until happy with their positioning. This is how I decided I wanted it to roughly look before I committed to glueing anything down. I cut the letters for the baby’s name using alphabet dies from elsewhere but alternatively you can also find some really beautiful alphabet sticker/chipboard sets in many craft shops which would work equally as well.

To create the effect of ‘longer’ branches, I overlaid the various short ones. Any obvious ‘seams’ will be covered over at a later point.

Step 17

Remove the mount from the box frame and flip it over. Apply redline tape all around the edge of the aperture and stick into place the ‘runny honey’ card base.

Step 18

Once happy with the layout, start glueing into position. To add a little height and depth, stick the ‘bear’ and ‘hello baby’ sentiment onto sticky foam pads.

Step 19

Have another play around, this time with how you want your tree blossom to look and then stick into position. I used the larger of my flowers to conceal the ‘seams’ on my branches.

Step 20

Finally, using Nuvo Vintage Drops, add some centre details to the flowers and some additional tiny drops in the immediate surrounding areas, to add to the tree blossom effect.

Step 21

Leave the drops to harden and then place into your box frame.

Box frame complete and ready to be gifted or hung in your own little person’s nursery!

I opted for a more ‘neutral’ colour palette with this one by pairing it with green but the beauty of the ‘yellow’ honey is that it works beautifully well with either blue or pink, if you wanted to be a little more gender specific and of course there’s nothing stopping you from having a brightly coloured bear if you didn’t fancy the more traditional brown colour scheme!

Lots of possibilities with this super cute stamp set so I hope it’s inspired you to have a play!

As always, thank you so much for visiting the blog and reading my post (apologies, it was an extra long one this time!)

Take care and happy crafting.

Hi, It’s Ruth on the blog today and I’m showing you how to use the fab dies and papers from the Summer Garden Kit (No. 56) to decorate an A5 notebook.

What you will need

These are the contents of the kit

To decorate the front and back covers of your A5 notebook you will need the dies and papers from the kit along with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and some Craft Perfect Jute Twine.

Front Cover

Step 1

Cut 2 pieces of patterned paper measuring 13.5cm x 21cm.

NB. I highly recommend not gluing these to your notebook until you have completely decorated them and are happy with them!

Step 2

Die cut the watering can from the Baroque Rose card and then die cut the pattern into the centre with the two dies shown. Die cut another watering can from Coffee Cream card.

Step 3

Snip off the spout and handle from the cream watering can and glue behind the patterned die cut.

Step 4

Die cut the planter and cut a rectangle of card to fit behind it. Glue together.

Step 5

Glue a small square of card to the back of the planter on the right side. This is to help keep the planter level but not add dimension.

Step 6

Glue the watering can to the paper and then add the planter as shown.

Step 7

Die cut the bird from Coffee Cream card and 2 wings from Maroon card. Glue the wings in place and add a black dot for the eye. Glue the bird to the top of the watering can.

Step 8

Die cut 2 Baroque Rose butterflies and glue above the bird.

Step 9

Die cut 3 flowers with stems from Coffee Cream card and the same again from Maroon card. Snip off the Maroon flowers and glue on top of the Coffee Cream flowers.

Step 10

Glue these to the bottom left of the watering can.

Step 11

Die cut a selection of maroon and cream flowers and leaves. You can use the leftovers on the back of the notebook or another project.

Step 12

Glue the flowers and leaves to the front of the notebook, around the planter and watering can. Tie a length of jute twine to the top of the spiral binding.

Back Cover

Step 1

Die cut the birdhouse from Coffee Cream card and the patterned panel from Baroque Rose card. Die cut the roof part from Maroon card. Glue these in place and glue to the centre of the page.

Step 2

Die cut the bird from maroon card and the wing from Baroque card and glue onto the bottom left of the birdhouse. Add a black dot for the eye.

Step 3

Die cut 2 flower pots and 2 flowers with stems. Glue to the right of the birdhouse.

Step 4

Die cut several flowers and leaves. You can use the left overs for another project.

Step 5

Glue the flowers and leaves around the birdhouse and add 3 leaves to each top corner of the notebook.

Step 2

Die cut 6 of the Balloon Lid shapes from white card.

Step 3

Using the 2 dies shown, die cut 6 blue decorative panels and glue them to the lids.

Step 4

Using both dies shown die cut 6 blue decorative panels and glue them to the balloon bases.

Step 5

Gently shape the balloon base pieces with a bone folder.

Step 6

Attach the base pieces together by the tabs with hi tack tape. NB. Attach the top and bottom tabs together first and the ones in between will easily fall into place.

Step 7

Shape the balloon lid pieces in the same way and attach together with hi tack tape on the tabs.

Step 8

Die cut the hexagonal roof.

Step 9

Glue the roof to the top of the lid.

Step 10

Use magnets to connect your balloon base to the lid. Glue 2 small magnets to the inside of the balloon base with each on opposite sides of the rim. The Designers Choice Spring Shadow Box Die Set is a quick and simple set to make up and looks amazing when complete. There are so many possibilities to create with it. I have chosen to make a scenic box using the dies including in other ways so stretching your supplies even further! The best thing about the box is that it folds flat for posting!

What you will need

- Designer’s Choice Spring Shadow Box Die Set

- Pistachio Green Classic Card

- Glazed Chesnut Card

- Cornflower Blue Card

- Grass Green Card

- Smooth White Card

- Woodland Walk Paper Pad

- Nuvo Alcohol Pens: 453, 404, 393, 413 and 415

- Nuvo Hybrid Pad in Lotus Flower

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Glue

- Scissors

Step 1

From brown card die cut 2 side panels, a front and back panel. From blue card die cut a smaller back panel.

Step 2

Make up the back panel of your shadow box first. To do this stick the blue card on the brown card base. Make sure you don’t add glue to the left and right edges but leave a little gap so that you can slip the tabs for the sides underneath. Die cut a green hill using the stage die and cut off the tabs. Die cut the clouds from white and adhere both as shown with glue.

Step 3

Next, create the tree for the front of the shadow box. For this you need to die cut 2 stage die pieces from the woodland walk paper which looks like bark and 6 hedge pieces from green card.

Step 4

Assemble the tree by cutting one of the stage pieces in two and sticking them behind the other stage piece. Stick the bush pieces on top to create the foliage for the tree as shown with glue.

Step 5

Get the additional pieces ready for the rest of the shadow box by die cutting the fence, 2 flowers and 2 plants. Colour them in with your Nuvo pens as shown.

Step 6

Assemble the stage piece by sticking on the flowers and foliage pieces with glue then adding a bush die cut with light green card.

Step 7

Begin assembling the box by sticking the side tabs to the back with glue then adhering the stage just above the green base.

Step 8

Emboss ‘Best Wishes’ onto white card and then use the Lotus Flower Nuvo pad lightly across it to colour it.

Step 9

Assemble the front of the box by sticking the gate along the front with glue, the tree on the left side, bush to the right and the sentiment on the top right. Stick this completed panel to the front of the shadow box to the side tabs.

The new Garden Greeting Showcase from Tonic is just my kind of thing!

I love nature and anything that I can make which reflects some nature in it is definitely a winner in my books!

What you will need

This is the die set and it obviously can be used to make cards, decorate scrapbook pages, add a touch of the garden to memory books etc but today I’m showing you how to use the dies to make a plant gift wrap!

- Garden Greetings Showcase die set

- Craft Perfect Smooth White Card

- Craft Perfect Pearlescent Card, Gleaming Lilac

- Craft Perfect Classic Card, Arctic Blue

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Craft Perfect Double Sided Tape

- Silver Sequins

- Liquid Mercury Crystal Drops

- Arctic Blue Double Satin Ribbon, 9mm

- Nuvo Alcohol Markers, Pillow Mint Pea Pod, Sweet Blossom, Violet Breeze and Spring Lilac

Step 1

Cut the pieces you need for the main construction of the box as shown. I’ve opted for a smooth card for this project, as some pieces will be seen from both sides so a textured card (such as Craft Perfect Classic) wouldn’t work so well in this case. I have cut the decorative panel into one of the lid pieces, to allow a battery light to go inside the box and shine through.

Step 2

Snip the two decorative panels off one of the lid pieces as shown. This will create the bottom of the box.

Step 3

Glue the two side panels together, and then adhere these to the base that you have taken the decorative panels off. This will form the main construction of the finished box.

Step 4

Next we’ll assemble the drawer. Cut the large centre glue tab off one of the drawer halves.

Step 5

Glue the two drawer halves together using the large centre glue tab.

Step 6

Fold along all the scores and glue tabs around the drawer sides, and adhere them all. The last step is to glue the second drawer panel inside the box, and this provides additional strength to the drawer, along with hiding all the inner glue tabs.

Step 7

For the lid panel, fold the glue tabs down, and then fold the two decorative front panels up along the score lines. Glue the decorative panels together at the front to create the front face of the box.

Step 8

Die cut a piece of Vintage White Vellum Paper using the smaller hexagonal die, and adhere this to the underside of the lid piece. This allows you to add a battery tea light or string lights inside the box, and the glow will be seen through the detail cut into the lid.

Step 9

To help get the lid of the box in the perfect position, I find it easier to sit the drawer into the box, and then glue the lid over the top of it. This will ensure that there is enough room for the drawer to move in and out of the box once it is assembled.

Step 10

Now that the basic box is constructed, it’s time to decorate! I’ve gone for one of my favourite colour schemes for this: Burnished Rose Satin Mirror and Platinum Rose Mirror Card. There are many different pattern options to choose from, here I’ve chosen a more open pattern so you can see plenty of the Burnished Rose card in the background. I have also cut a hexagonal panel of Platinum Rose to line the inside of the drawer, as this will help reflect the tea light or lights you place in the box later.

Step 11

To help get the lid of the box in the perfect position, I find it easier to sit the drawer into the box, and then glue the lid over the top of it. This will ensure that there is enough room for the drawer to move in and out of the box once it is assembled.

Step 12

Now that the basic box is constructed, it’s time to decorate! I’ve gone for one of my favourite colour schemes for this: Burnished Rose Satin Mirror and Platinum Rose Mirror Card. I thought I’d share one last photo….when I took the plant outside to take a photo a little ladybird (the first one I’ve seen this year!) appeared from the periwinkle plant and climbed onto my plant pot for an impromptu photo shoot!

The lovely Sophie from Tonic requested a cute little project for this month’s kit, creating one of the gorgeous Bureau Bloom boxes from the kit (with a little CRaFTi twist) with a selection of flashcards inside that you could pin to your notice board or on the fridge too :D So here’s what I created :D I’ve done a detailed construction as I’ve changed the way the box goes together

Step 1

Die-cut 4 of the large panels from your chosen colour of card, you can also use the fab debossing star die on the skinny sides of the box too, and add your 3 mm red liner tape to the glue tabs as well.

Step 2

Then to add some extra interest to the textured craft perfect, I’ve used some Raspberry Smoothie ink to stamp on some detail with the stamps included in the kit :D The Raspberry Smoothie ink gives the perfect watermark effect to the Raspberry textured Craft Perfect cardstock.

Step 3

For my alternate lid I have cut 4 of the lid piece (I switched it up with different colours but you can definitely do them all from white too) And I’ve also cut all the decorative panels from Ice Rink Card too.

Step 4

To make the Ice Rink die-cuts stand out on the white lid, I used the 2 pink Nuvo Alcohol pens from the kit to add an ombre of colour to the intricate panels.

Step 5

And instead of using the debossing dies on the skinny sides, I’ve used the Enchanting Pink Nuvo Drop from the kit to add Nuvo Drops and also a line of Nuvo Drop too for a different look.

Step 6

For my version of the lid and base, you want to snip off the pieces shown to the right to give the main pieces on the left.

Step 7

And you want to stick them together like so.

Step 8

You can then use your Glide Folder to pre-crease all the score lines.

Step 9

and then simply assemble the lid and base using the glue tabs, overlapping the 2 side pieces like so.

Step 10

to give you these :D You want to make use you’re Nuvo drops are dry before assembling too.

Step 11

Stick all the side panels together and pre-fold all the long score lines on the main body of the box, the secure with the final glue tab to give a tube.

Step 12

Add the base to the end of the tube, I decided not to glue it, but you can glue it depending on what gift your putting inside :D For the closure I took 2 lengths of the 3mm ribbon and tied one to each of the holes on the base.

Step 13

I then threaded those ribbons through to holes on the lid, and tied the 2 ends together into a bow on top of the box :D And then I simply added a little tag tucking it under where the 2 sides overlap.

Step 14

The flash cards inside can be whatever you want. I decided to stick with the dies from the kit, but you could maximise the size by measuring the completed box and creating your own rectangles :D I think you could also use these flash cards as bookmarks, or you could write verses on them to personalise them to the recipient too :D There’s lots of scope for creating these.

Hope you enjoyed this little project :D Check out my Un-Boxing video for some more ideas including an alternate construction for the box, and some card making ideas and Nuvo inspiration too as well as a detailed look at the kit :D Christine xxx

I could not believe it when I saw this Typewriter die set! What an ingenious bit of papercraft engineering! And the fact that it has a kinetic element too just blew me away! You can actually make the paper roll in and out and leave it whatever length you like too so the message can keep on going as the recipient pulls the paper out, then even better, they can roll the paper back in too :D I’ve made mine for my craft room as décor, so I left my paper blank, but you could have so much fun add a secret message, and you even have space in the back to add a gift too :D Hope this SBS construction was helpful! Christine xxx

Step 1

For the main body of the typewriter, you’ll need all the pieces shown.

Step 2

and you’ll need to attach them to give this shaped net of the box.

Step 3

You’ll then need all your decorative pieces as shown.

Step 4

add them all while the typewriter is flat like this so they adhere well, and pay particular attention to way up I’ve put pieces, that way everything is the right way up when it all comes together.

Step 5

You have 2 choices for the keyboard, for this one I chose the stamped design, but the die-set comes with the debossing die which looks fab too.

Step 6

I stuck the turquoise piece flat to the stamped image, trimmed around the edge to remove the excess, then added it to the typewriter with 3D foam, again note which way up I added this.

Step 7

You’ll need the pieces above to create the inner and outer ‘spindles’ for the mechanism to roll the paper in and out, notice the piece on the far right, we can discard this.

Step 8

For the inner spindle, you want it to be complete, and you also want to add a strip of red liner tape to add the paper onto too.

Step 9

For the paper, cut a piece to 8.5 cm wide, and this can be any length you like, I’ve kept it the longest dimension of the A4 and it still winds in perfectly, it also means you could add a longer hidden message too if you wanted too.

Step 10

For the outer spindle, this will basically be the place for the paper to wind into and be protected from whatever other gift you might want to put inside, but before we add this to the main body, let’s make the handles for the inner spindle.

Step 11

For the 2 handles you’ll need the pieces shown.

Step 12

and you’ll need to stick each pair together like this :D I’ve also made use of one of the gems off an old Nuvo product too.

Step 13

Little pegs/clips held tremendously when constructing these.

Step 14

You’ll end up with 2 handles like this.

Step 15

Now we can go back to the main construction, use the glue tabs to get your typewriter to this stage, leaving those last 2 glue tabs on each side un-stuck while we add the mechanism.

Step 16

place the inner spindle with paper attached through the top slot ready.

Step 17

Then attach the outer spindle inside the typewriter as shown.

Step 18

You can now place the inner spindle inside and feed the ends through the hole on either side.

Step 19

like so, and once this in place you can secure those final glue tabs too.

Step 20

To attach the handles, you’ll need 4 of the hexagon ‘washers’, I’ve added tape to the back of them all to make it easier.

Step 21

Add a washer as shown, and secure the glue tabs to it, then take a second washer and glue it over the top to secure those glue tabs.

Step 22

like so, you can then adhere the 2 handles that we made in steps 11-14 onto these washers.

Step 23

To help the back of the ‘gift box’ to stay shut, you can add the tabs to both parts of the typewriter and then use some 3mm Craft Perfect ribbon to secure.

Step 24

For that final bit of decoration, use the dies from the die set to create lots of flowers adding some coordinating nuvo drops in the centres.

Step 25

And finish the typewriter by adding these all over.

Hello crafty friends, it's Terri back on the blog today to share an overview, along with some tips and ideas on how to use this fab Showcase set. This stamp and die combo is extremely versatile and I made 3 completely different cards with it and have barely scratched the surface of what can be created.

The set includes a stamp set with gorgeous images of dandelions, dragonflies and some lovely sentiments for all occasions. The die set has some dies that correspond to the stamps, to save you fussy cutting them, along with a series of intricate verso dies, plus some extra cute little dies like a butterfly and a tiny dragonfly.

Step 3

There are 4 half circle verso dies, with intricate dandelion and dragonfly detailing and a regular half circle. These half circle dies are perfect to use on Z fold cards (where the front of a side opening card is folded in half vertically) as they cut a beautiful pattern into the card, using the following steps.

Step 3

You can see here how I completed the above steps and then added speciality card stock over top, along with a frame, which we will come on to in a moment.

Step 3

There are two decorative edged dies that are a circular(ish) shape, which can be used on their own, to make a decorative topper, or in conjunction with one of the solid circle or scalloped circle dies included to make a frame. Below I have used one of the decorative dies on its own and also created a topper using the scalloped circle die and the two dragonfly verso dies. You can also see how I made a frame using the dragonfly circular die with the scalloped circle die to make a frame from the stunning holo waves mirror card.

You can also see how I made a frame using the dragonfly circular die with the scalloped circle die to make a frame from the stunning holo waves mirror card.

Step 3

The addition of the circle dies to this set inspired me to create a circular aperture in the front of a square card blank and decorate both the front and the inside. This is a very easy concept but makes a really pretty card. I cut several of the dandelion verso dies into pieces of 300gsm white Craft Perfect and snipped out the dandelions, before adding them around the outside of my circle aperture. In between each of these I stamped a dandelion in blue mineral.

Step 3

To complete the card I created a simple pond scene for inside the card and added an identical frame to match the front of the card. A touch of Crystal glaze to the lily pad gives a lovely shiny effect. I first stamped the lotus flower onto a white scalloped circle, then stamped the lotus flower onto some masking paper and fussy cut that, placed it on top and then stamped the lily pad, to achieve the effect of the lotus flower sitting on top of the lily pad.

Step 3

The images in the stamp set are perfect for heat embossing too. For one of my card samples I stamped and heat embossed in white embossing powder the two dandelion stamps, all over a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card panel. I then chose 3 complementary colours of Nuvo hybrid ink and ink blended the entire panel, before wiping off any excess ink from the heat embossed dandelions. This made for a beautiful background for one of my cards.

In summary, this versatile set is perfect for:

• Making Z fold or fancy fold cards with the half circle verso dies

• Making aperture window cards and decorating the front and inside of your make

• Stamping and then heat embossing the pretty and elegant stamps

• Stamping and simply colouring the basic stamps

• Snipping out elements from the verso die cuts to add dimension to your make and to use creatively however you wish! (Though I personally love the classy look of white on white)

I hope you have enjoyed this overview of this fab Showcase set. I think it is incredibly versatile, especially with the sentiment stamps that are included. “You blow me away” is perfect for a card for your partner or someone who has just had a big achievement and “Flying by to say hi” is perfect for a thinking of you card, when you just want to let someone know that you care and lets face it, who wouldn't want to receive a card like that.

Happy crafting, Terri (VeegsTez Creates)

Hi crafty friends!

I’m back on the Tonic blog today, to share with you a fun make I created using this month’s new Tonic Stamp Club release - Picnic Party; where I have combined a stamped background along with some cute ‘tomato’ characters I made using basic die cut shapes. If you don’t have dies of similar shapes in your crafty stash, these could just as easily be recreated by hand-cutting them.

What you will need

- Stamp Club: Picnic Party

- Craft Perfect - US A6 ‘Bright White’ Card Blank

- Craft Perfect Watercolour Card - A6

- Nuvo Clear Mark

- Nuvo Embossing Powder - Glacier White

- Nuvo Shimmer Powders - Catherine Wheel & Maroon Spark

- Craft Perfect Classic Card - Fern Green & Cherry Red

- Craft Perfect Smooth Cardstock in Black & White

- Craft Perfect Vellum - Pure White

- Nuvo Hybrid Inks - Black Shadow, Rich Rosewood & Parkeet Green

- Craft Perfect 12mm Double-sided Tissue Tape

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Craft Perfect Dimensional Foam Pads

- Nuvo Crystal Glaze

- White Gel Pen

- Black Fineliner Pen

- Clear stamping block

- Various sized circle dies

- x1 larger, x1 small flower die

- Blending dauber & pad

- Anti-static bag

- Water spray bottle

- Heat tool

- Trimmer or guillotine

Step 1

On the ‘smooth’ (overside) of A6 Craft Perfect Watercolour Card, randomly stamp out the small ketchup bottle at various angles, overlapping the page edges in areas. Use Nuvo Clear Mark to stamp your bottle images and then cover the entire A6 page in White Embossing Powder. Tap off the excess powder and heat set all of your ketchup bottles

*TIP* An anti-static bag is my best friend when using embossing powders, especially when multiple stamped images are involved, as it stops any powder sticking in unwanted places!

Step 2

Spray both the front and back sides of your embossed cardbase (a crafty friend shared with me the tip of spraying the back at the same time to stop the card from curling and it works brilliantly!) Apply both shades of red shimmer powders all over the page and watch how they all start to move around - I absolutely LOVE this bit. It’s so mesmerising!

Step 3

I wanted my powders to leave more of a ‘watercolour effect’ so to make it less patchy looking, I applied further sprays of water to help them to spread and merge. If you prefer the more speckled effect you could leave out the extra water - It is totally up to you!

Set aside to dry.

Step 4

Meanwhile, out of your red, green, white and black cardstocks, cut the pieces needed to create your tomato characters. This bit is a lot of fun, playing around with and combining different basic shapes that form many parts of the various die sets we crafters own! You may not have the exact same sized dies in your supplies but to give an idea of the dimensions, I cut the following:

● x1 larger red circle, approx 4.8cm wide

● x1 red circle, approx 3.6cm wide

● x2 small red punched circles, approx 1cm wide

● x1 very small red punched circle, approx 0.6cm wide (done using a hole punch)

● x2 white circles, approx 1.6cm wide

● x2 smaller white circles, 1cm wide

● x2 black circles, 1cm wide

● x2 very small hole-punched black circles, approx 0.6cm wide

● x1 lager and x1 small green ‘spiky’ flowers

These are just a guide. Have a play around with the different sized circles you own. Equally, these shapes could be cut by hand by drawing around objects such as coins and pen lids.

Step 5

Using a blending dauber, apply some ‘darker’ red ink to the top right and bottom sides of circles to create a bit of shadow and give them a more ‘3D’ effect. Next, take one of the two smaller sized circles and cut it down into two slim semi-circles, as shown. Carefully ink-blend the cut edge also.

Step 6

Using a dark green ink, apply to the tips of your green flower shapes. Using a small pair of scissors, trim them down as shown to resemble the leafy tops of your tomatoes.

Step 7

Glue the white and black circles to create your characters’ eyes. On the smaller of the two eye sets, glue the small red semi-circles to appear like eye-lids.

Step 8

Attach to your eyes and leafy tops to the two largest red circles.

Step 9

Cut down two small squares of adhesive foam pad and attach to the back of the remaining two red circles.

Step 10

Attach the circles to form ‘noses’ and then using a black fineliner and white gel pen, add in some details to give your tomato faces a bit of extra cheeky character!

Step 11

Draw out a ‘splat’ shape on a piece of vellum and then cut out.

Step 12

Trim down your ketchup card base to measure 10.3cm x 14.8cm and cut a second green base measuring ever so slightly larger at 10.7cm x 15.2cm

Step 13

Using double-sided tissue tape along the edges and wet glue in the centre; attach the ketchup card base to the green base and then attach this to an A6 card blank.

*TIP* By nature of the watercolour card, once made wet its edges tend to dry warped therefore I find using the tissue tape on the outside gives a far better adherence without any ‘wobbly’ lifting. It is, however, not very forgiving when needing to stick down with any kind of precision. The wet glue in the centre allows some ‘wriggle room’ to allow the card base to be attached evenly before fully committing the edges. I lifted the protective tape cover slightly as shown, to form easy pull tabs which I find are very handy once I have ‘wriggled’ my cardbase into position!

Step 14

To make your splat shape stand proud of the card, stick some trimmed down adhesive foam pad to the back of the vellum shape (only in the centre so that your tomato characters will cover it). Attach the splat to sit roughly in the centre of your card.

*TIP* Have a dry run first and play around with the orientation of your splat shape to decide how it works best with your tomatoes.

Step 15

Glue the larger tomato directly onto the vellum. Put some adhesive foam pad onto the back of the smaller tomato and attach, slightly overlapping the bigger one.

Step 16

Stamp out the ‘Let’s Ketchup’ and ‘sometime soon’ sentiments in black ink onto white cardstock and trim down. I added a little border detail in fineliner using a ruler. This could be done freehand instead or alternatively kept plain if you prefer.

Step 17

Apply adhesive foam pads to the back of your sentiments and attach. Again, you may wish to play around with positioning first and see where they work best with where your ketchup bottles happen to be. I originally saw both of my sentiments going top and bottom centre but found I didn’t like how they covered the bottles, so it’s worth having a little play.

Step 18

Finally, apply some Crystal Glaze to the noses of your cheeky toms to give them a bit of extra fun glossy pop! Leave to dry to go clear.

Alternatively, clear ‘Morning Dew’ Nuvo Crystal Drops would work just as well if you don’t have any Crystal Glaze.

And there you have it… A cute ‘punny’ card that is ideal for writing a note to someone you’ve not seen in a while or even as an invitation for a long-overdue catch up!

I hope that I’ve been able to show how if we look at some of our basic die shapes in slightly different ways, that they can be combined to create something totally different. Have a play and hopefully you’ll give creating your own fun little tomato characters a go!!

Thank you for visiting my post.

Happy crafting!

I’d been hoping Tonic would make a 3D camera gift box for quite some time, and they did not disappoint!! I LOVE how this box looks assembled, and I’ve made mine as an ornament for my craft room! :D Hope this SBS construction is helpful :D Christine

Step 1

Die-cut the main pieces for the camera, and use the decorative front panel to guide where you need to cut the circle in the largest piece

Step 2

to give you this piece, that you can then proceed to decorate with whichever combination of panels you like.

Step 3

For the top of the camera, you need the piece with all the glue tabs, and you’ll need to cut the small hexagon out of the end shown, so that the button (bottom right die-cut) has somewhere to attach to.

Step 4

You can then use wet glue to stick the button together to give.

Step 5

this, and to secure this, instead of adding glue/tape to the button tabs, add it behind the hexagon aperture and secure the button

Step 6

like this :D If you have any excess adhesive showing you can add anti-static powder to stop it being sticky.

Step 7

Now we need these pieces for the lens of the camera, and you’ll see instead of adding tape to the multiple glue tabs on the long pieces, I’ve added it to the back of the 2 circles.

Step 8

Remove the backing off the tape on one circle and push it inside the tube so that the adhesive is towards the tabs. Then simply press the tabs down, I recommend sticking opposites first to get it level.

Step 9

then you can push them all in like this, and you can now add the second circle covered in adhesive over this.

Step 10

And you can add your extra decoration. See instructions inside packaging for alternative lens.

Step 11

Now we need to add the lens to the body of the camera, I recommend using some foam tape for this, as I think it makes the front look neater. Again we’re going with the method of adding the adhesive to the perimeter of the aperture rather than all the little tabs, but this time we’re splaying the tabs outwards as shown to hold the lens in place.

Step 12

Your lens will now be perfectly attached, and again if you have any exposed adhesive on the inside, just use your anti-static tool to remove the stickiness.

Step 13

For the back of the camera, you’ll need to cut a rectangle out of the back panel, so that you can access the inside. You want to keep this rectangle as it’ll be the back door, and you’ll also need the hinge die-cut too so enable you to attach it again.

Step 14

Add the hinge at the bottom of the aperture as shown, then simply replace the rectangle back into the aperture securing it to the top of the hinge

Step 15

We can now start the main assembly, you need to top of the camera from steps 3-6, the main body piece which we can now add the back panel too, and you’ll also need to die-cut the bottom piece too.

Step 16

Pre-fold all the score lines to help with assembly, and you’ll see the main shape come together and you can start to stick it all together with the glue tabs, incorporating the top of the camera.

Step 17

For this side seams, I stuck the front panel over the back to give a neater finish :D It also means you can stick all the decorative panels onto that main front piece too.

Step 18

Then once the main body is put together, you can add on the base with the remaining glue tabs.

Step 19

I think the Black Gloss mirror card from Craft Perfect makes the perfect LCD screen, and those speech bubble sentiments just finish it off nicely.

Step 20

As an extra design feature, why not add a neck strap. I used the Craft Perfect 9mm black ribbon for this, add some red liner tape to each end of your chosen length and fold it over to make it nice and strong.

Step 21

then use your craft pick to make a hole and add a silver brad to each end

Step 22

To attach it to the camera body, I picked the second full diamond down in my decorative panels and poked a hole on each side

Step 23

Then I just splayed the brad legs on the inside to secure it in place.

Step 24

And there you have your finished camera with neck strap :D BUT you can also add a concertina inside if you’d like as well.

Step 25

For the simplest concertina, die-cut 6 of the scored triangle pieces, and 4 of the scored rectangles (you can multiply this up if you want to).

Step 26

Add one of the gussets between 2 of the rectangles as shown, making sure the scores on the rectangles are at the bottom.

Step 27

Then add one to the other side too to make one concertina pocket.

Step 28

keep adding to this with all the pieces you can to give this little concertina. To add this to your camera, simply stick one rectangle to the inside of the camera door that we added in step 14 :D You will want to make sure you’ve added you neck strap before you add this in though.

Hello :) Today, I'm giving you a review of the Wildflower Garden Kit from aircraftcreeper (No. 54, if you're counting!)

If you are completely new to the Tonic kits. You can check the link below,

which explains what the kit is, how to subscribe and how to buy it as a one-off subscription.

Here's a closer look at the Nuvo products in this kit!

The top left die can be used on its own to create an arched aperture in the card and you will also have the die cut from the centre to attach to your card.

The top right die has a combination of cutting and scoring lines which create a centre opening window/gate.

The bottom left die is a "verso" die which cuts the window into your card,

The bottom right die cuts the top shape completely out and leaves shutters below.

Die Set Combinations

The decorative gate/ shutter dies can be used with the die cut shown to create a beautiful wrought iron look gate/ shutter. This would look fantastic in silver or black mirror card!

The longer decorative dies can be used with the long shutter.

This die takes on a completely different look when it's cut from the Glossy Black Mirror Card in the kit!

How to assemble a blind

I loved the idea of adding a little blind behind the window (you will need to add a piece of acetate first)

and here's how you can make one.

Step 1

Cut a piece of the double sided patterned paper from the kit to 8cm x 11cm and score at 4cm, 5cm, 8cm and 9cm.

Step 2

Crease all the score lines with a bone folder.

Step 3

Turn the blind over and add a tiny piece of double sided tape into the centres of the folded sections to hold them down.

Step 4

Attach double sided tape to the top and sides on the right side of the blind and attach these to the card behind the acetate.

Finished Blind

Flower Pots

In the card left, with the blind, and the card above with the window and shutters, you can see how you can add different combinations of flower pots (both stamped and die cut) with foliage and flowers to the window /gate scene.

Another idea is to add a stamped sentiment behind the shutters.

Don't forget that the foliage dies can look awesome in mirror card!

The Designers Choice Bunnies & Blooms Die Set has so many pretty elements to make wonderful cards. My favourite elements have to be the little bunny dies which are just adorable. I’ve made use of the dies from the set to create mini rocker cards and added a faux shaker element to them too!

What you will need

- Designer’s Choice Bunnies & Blooms Die Set

- Coral Pink Classic Card

- Glitter Card – Gold Dust

- Pearlescent Card – Ivory Sheen

- Pearlescent Card – Navy Dazzle

- Opera Red Mirror Card

- Acetate

- Nuvo Bluebell Heart Sheen Confetti

- Nuvo Pale Gold Crystal Drops

- Scoring Board and Tool

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Pencil

- Glue

- Scissors

Step 1

Take a sheet of the Coral Card and die cut a large scallop oval. Use the corresponding floral frame die and cut a frame from Navy card. Stick both together with glue.

Step 2

The scallop oval is 5” in length so score at the half way point at 2 ½”. Fold and burnish to make the base for your rocker card.

Step 3

Die cut an oval from Ivory Pearlescent card and one from acetate then the ‘Happy Easter’ from the Opera Red Mirror Card. Adhere the ‘Happy Easter’ to the acetate oval with glue. Sprinkle some blue confetti on the Ivory Oval and put glue around the edges before sticking the ‘Happy Easter’ on top forming a faux shaker which looks like a shaker but you’ve not had to add the foam pads to make it a proper shaker.

Step 4

Put glue on the bottom half of the shaker topper you created and stick it to the rocker base.

Step 5

Die cut a bunny from gold glitter card and adhere to the bottom right of the topper.

Step 6

Finish by adding Pale Gold Crystal drops to the flowers on the bottom of the rocker. Don’t just stop at one card - you can make many more like the one I did just changing the colours and sentiments around.

Hello 😊

This is Ruth and today I am going to have a look at the new colours in the Nuvo Classic Colour Pencils range.

Nuvo Classic Colour Pencils contain a highly pigmented rich wax core and feature an ergonomic triangular shaped barrel for comfort while colouring.

Existing Colours

New Colours

They can be used both for vibrant colouring, to add detail to alcohol marker colouring or for a subtle blended effect.

Three brand new sets have been added to the range and each set comes beautifully packages in a tin containing 12 highly pigmented pencils.

The new sets are Dark Tones, Elementary Midtones and Pastel Highlights and these complement the existing Brilliantly Vibrant and Hair & Skin Tones meaning that there are now 60 fabulous colours in total!

You’ll see the colours on the front of the tin and they are listed on the back of the tins with their names.

When you lay out your pencils to start colouring, each tin fits into the lid of the next tin to keep them all compact and within reach.

Although there are 12 pencils in each tin, you can mix and match the pencils with any pencils from another tin.

Tonic have some beautiful colouring pages which you can download to use with the colouring pencils.

In the section below I’ll show you some of the ways I like to use the pencils

Technique 1

Used with a light hand, you can create a beautiful subtle blended effect.

Technique 2

You’ll get a smooth finish if you blend the colours together using Baby Oil and a Paper Stump.

Technique 3

The pencils can add detail to a piece which has already been coloured with alcohol markers.

Technique 4

You can achieve a beautifully blended effect by smoothing the colours together with the alcohol based Nuvo Blender Pen.

Technique 5

Using the white pencil to blend gives a paler, more chalky finished result.

The white pencil is in the Brilliantly Vibrant set.

Step 3

Glue the green die cut behind the white patterned die cut. Fold the tabs on the pocket backwards and add hi tack tape to the outer tabs.

Step 4

Die cut the long folding tab and one of the dies with the slits.

Add narrow hi tack tape to the narrowest areas and feed through the slits in the other die cut.

Step 5

Attach the narrow areas with the hi tack tape to form a tab.

Step 6

Die cut a pop up and use the same die along with a sentiment die to create a green pop up. Glue the green die cut on top of the white one.

Step 7

Glue the base of the pop up stick to the front slider plate and slider bar.

Step 8

Push the mechanism tabs through the slot in the pocket.

Step 9

Attach the pocket to the back of the pot die cuts.

Step 10

Die cut the base and sides of the pot and add hi tack tape to the tabs.

Step 11

Attach the base and sides to the front of the pot.

Step 12

Die cut this tab with slits again.

Step 11

Push the tabs from the slider mechanism through the slits of the small tab, fold over each other and glue in place.

Step 12

Die cut the small tab shape, score and fold, then add hi tack tape and adhere the 2 centre pieces together to create a tab.

Step 11

Fold around the back of the tab (from pic 13) and glue to secure.

Step 12

Die cut the large pot from white card, placing the positioning slot die in the centre to create the large slot.

Step 11

Push the slider mechanism through the back panel and adhere to the back of the pot.

Step 12

Die cut a large green pot, also with a slot and glue to the back of the pot.

NB make sure to only add glue around the outside of this die cut so that the slider mechanism can move freely!

Step 11

Die cut large yellow flowers, green stems, medium green flowers, small white flowers. Emboss/ shape the flowers and assemble. Glue inside the pot and add Honey Gold Glitter Drops to the centres of the flowers.

I absolutely loved creating this card using the beautiful Coneflower Floral Split Strips dies. Using bright colours of card and markers, the pattern in the dies really came to life and I can’t wait to post this card to a friend to brighten their day. Follow my step-by-step directions to create this card yourself!

What you will need

- Coneflower Floral Split Strips Dies

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Craft Perfect White Smooth Card

- Craft Perfect Classic Card in Ocean Blue and Marigold Yellow

- Nuvo Alcohol Marker Pens 425, 465, 463, 391, 405, 403

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Craft Perfect Dimensional Foam Pads 12mm x 12mm

- Nuvo Vintage Drops Bohemian Teal

Step 1

Cut a card base in Craft Perfect White Smooth Card, measuring 7.5” x 7” and score at 3.5”. Cut a mat in Craft Perfect Marigold Yellow measuring 7.25” x 3.25”

Step 2

Die cut the outer frame from the dies in Craft Perfect Ocean Blue; the inner frame in Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card; and finally die cut two lots of the inner frame and detail pieces in Ocean Blue.

Step 3

Adhere the white segments to one set of the detail pieces to create your pattern bases.

Step 4

Colour your pattern bases using Nuvo Alcohol Markers. Use 425 Skylight Blue for the backgrounds; a blend of 425 Rich Walnut and 423 Vintage Walnut for the flower centres; and a blend of 391 Butternut Squash, 405 Indian Saffron and 403 Bright Sunflower for the petals. Don’t worry if the pens colour the Ocean Blue card also: we’ll be covering this in just a moment!

Step 5

Adhere your second set of detail pieces in Ocean Blue over your coloured pattern bases. This will hide any areas where the pen has coloured the cardstock and make your designs look beautifully neat.

Step 6

Adhere your coloured pattern bases to the outer frame cut in step 2.

Step 7

Adhere your Margold Yellow mat to your card base using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and using Craft Perfect Dimensional Foam Pads stick your coloured flower panel to your card.

Step 8

Finally, add some additional details using Nuvo Vintage Drops in Bohemian Teal.

The Happy Hamper Gift Box die set makes the most beautifully shaped gift box that I've seen in a while! Even the name made me smile :)I thought I just had to make this in bright, cheerful colours and top it off with a butterfly.

The finished box measures 12cm wide, 9.5cm deep and 7cm tall.

What you will need

There are instructions inside the packet.

- Happy Hamper Gift Box die set

- Craft Perfect A4 card - Ivory White and Clementine Orange

- Craft Perfect Mariposa Moments 12 x 12 paper pack

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Craft Perfect Crafters Ribbon, Ivory White Double Satin 9mm and 3mm

- Nuvo Crystal Glaze

Step 1

Die cut 2 of the outer dies and 2 strap dies from ivory card.

Step 2

Glue the bases together.

Step 3

Glue the straps onto the tabs on the bases.

Step 4

Using the outer dies and inner detail dies shown, make the decorative panels for the front bac and sides. You will need 2 of each.

Step 5

Glue the panels in place.

Step 6

Cut out the lid shape from ivory card and use the 2 dies shown to make the orange panel. When cutting the orange panel, line up the little notches on the outer and inner dies.

Step 7

Glue the orange die cut onto the lid.

Step 8

Bend the side panels together, line up the slits and fold the long tabs in through.

Step 9

Add glue on the tab shown and adhere to the inside of the side panel.

Step 10

Fold the little tabs through the slits at the front and back.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR THE HANDLE

If you are not adding a handle you can follow the next 3 steps

Step A

Thread the long tab up through the slit on the lid.

Step 2

Fold the tab backwards.

Step C

Thread back into the slit in the side panel.

To add a ribbon handle

Step A

Die cut 2 ivory tabs with slits and glue the slit parts of both onto the corresponding slit on the lid.

Step B

Thread ribbon through the slits. Tie in a knot and bow.

Step 11

Cut out 3 butterflies from the paper pack.

Step 12

Die cut the fancy shaped oval from ivory card. On one of the butterflies, snip in between the wings at the bottom.

Step 13

Glue the oval onto the lid. Fold back the butterfly's wings and glue the body to the oval.

Step 14

Die cut 2 orange "bead" dies.

Step 15

Spread glue along the length of the die cut leaving a little gap at the top (wide end)

Step 16

Use a skewer or knitting needle to roll up the bead. It is important to keep the paper central as you roll to ensure the bead is symmetrical.

Step 17

Leaving the bead on the needle, coat with Crystal Glaze and leave propped up to dry.

Step 18

Attach the beads to the side of the handle with a loop of ribbon.

Hello crafty friends,

Today I bring you a cute little Thank You card using this month’s new Tonic Craft Kit - Spring Meadow. As a crafter, I’m partial to a shaker card or two; so as this month’s kit contains a lovely large bottle of Nuvo Pure Sheen Confetti, I have included a little shaker window in the design.

As soon as I saw the new kit, I absolutely fell in love with the combination of yellows, creams and greens of the chosen colour-way and did somebody say ‘New Trend’?! ...Spring Meadow contains some sneaky peeks of new Nuvo and Craft Perfect products from the first trend launch of 2022 which will be coming soon…woohoo!

What you will need

- Tonic Craft Kit - Spring Meadow

- Craft Perfect US A2 card blank - Ivory White

- Craft Perfect A4 Classic Card - Cream

- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

- Glue Gun

- Craft Perfect Heavy Weight Construction Acetate

- Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Pad

- Nuvo Clear Embossing Marker Pen

- Stamping Platform

- Heat tool

- Tangerine Die Cutting Machine

- Trimmer or guillotine

- Foam strips/tape

- Craft Perfect Double Sided Tissue Tape - 6mm

Step 1

Using a stamping platform, stamp out the arched stamp in Nuvo Clear Mark onto a piece of cream cardstock. (The card needs to be big enough to stamp a second time, to create an oval shape)

Step 2

Cover your stamped image in the embossing powder contained in the kit, tap off any excess powder and then heat set with a heat tool.

Step 3

Using a Nuvo clear marker pen, alternately colour in the ‘striped’ sections of the design as well as the ‘leaves’ in the corners. Apply the embossing powder and again tap off any excess and heat set.

Step 4

Using your stamping platform, perfectly align the stamp to create an oval shape.

Step 5

Repeat the previous processes of stamping in Clear Mark Embossing Ink, applying and heat setting the embossing powder and then colouring in and embossing the same elements of the design as before to create this symmetrical oval design.

Step 6

Using washi tape or low-tack tape, position the ‘oval’ and ‘rectangular’ shaped dies from the kit into position as shown and cut using your die cutting machine.

Step 7

Cut a small piece of acetate to size, measuring approximately 7 x 6cm

Step 8

Attach the acetate panel to the back of your oval shape using double sided tissue tape to create a shaker window

Step 9

Using foam strips or foam tape trimmed down to a width of approximately 3mm wide, attach the tape to create a ‘well’ surrounding the oval shape. Add some of the Nuvo Pure Sheen Confetti, leaving enough space to be able to shake them around.

TOP TIP: I’ve not included a photo here, but confetti has a tendency to ‘stick’ to acetate and therefore make shaking it around difficult. To avoid this happening, I rubbed my acetate sheet with an ‘anti-static’ bag before adding the confetti. If you don’t have one of those, corn flour in a pop-sock works just as well!

Step 10

Cut a small piece of the ‘Water Sprite’ Craft Perfect card, big enough to cover the foam strips and contain the confetti. Attach into place.

Step 11

Cut a piece of ‘Water Sprite’ Mirrored Cardstock measuring 8.5cm x 7.5cm

Cut a piece (of the darker end) of the Ombre ‘Opalescent Green’ cardstock to measure 9.2cm x 8.2cm

Step 12

Attach the smaller mirrored card to the ombre glitter card and then adhere to the shaker panel to create a ‘double border’ effect.

Step 13

Cut a piece of the ‘cross-hatch’ patterned paper to measure 10cm x 13.2cm

Cut some ‘Water Sprite’ Mirrored cardstock to measure 10.4cm x 13.6cm

Step 14

Attach the patterned paper to the slightly larger mirrored cardstock to create a bordered edge.

Step 15

Cut a piece of the ribbon from the kit to measure approx 19cm in length. Attach some of the red line tape to the top and bottom edges of the ribbon.

Step 16

Wrap the ribbon approximately 13mm from the bottom of the panel and adhere using the red line tape.

Step 17

Make a small bow using the ribbon.

Step 18

Combine the ‘thank you’ and ‘oval’ dies to cut the sentiment out in the ‘Sherbert Lemon’ glitter cardstock.

Step 19

Glue the thank you sentiment to the oval acetate panel of the shaker window.

Step 20

Attach the panel with the ribbon strip to an A2 card blank.

Step 21

Attach the shaker panel, aligning the bottom edge to the top edge of the ribbon.

Step 22

Attach the bow as shown.

I find a hot glue gun works best for securing firmly into place.

Step 23

Attach four of the gems, one to each of the corners of the shaker panel, to finish.

And there you have a cute, elegant little thank you card; ideal to have on hand when you need to send a little note of thanks but with that added bit of interactive fun in being able to ‘shake it, shake it’!

A massive thank you for stopping by the blog today and reading my post. I hope this has got you inspired by this month's kit and has made you as excited to see the new up-coming Tonic Trend as me!

Take care and happy crafting,

Kate x
